What types of vaccinations does your clinic offer for adult dogs?
The Airdrie Animal Health Centre offers three vaccines for canines: the Da2pp combo vaccine, Rabies vaccine and Bordetella vaccine. The Da2pp vaccine is a combo vaccine that protects against Distemper, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus and Canine Adenovirus type II. Along with the rabies vaccine, the Da2pp vaccine makes up the core vaccines for dogs. The Bordetella vaccine, commonly known as the kennel cough vaccine, is an optional vaccine based on the lifestyle and exposure to your dog, which would be discussed during the physical exam.
Is there a schedule for how often to vaccinate a dog?
The interval between each vaccination depends on your pet’s age, the vaccines given and previous vaccination history. In adult dogs, we offer annual distemper/parvo and Bordetella vaccines, while Rabies vaccines are only given once every 3 years. Once vaccinated with our clinic, your pet will be updated in our system, automatically reminding you when your dog is due for vaccines making it easier for you to keep track of your pet’s preventative health care.
